- CARES Progam - (See Below for Financial Assistance eligibility) Providing personalized support, resources, and guidance to help you build stability and resilience during life's challenges. Through the CARES program, MHM offers clients the opportunity to work with a dedicated "coach" who will support and encourage you every step of the way. Together, you'll connect to valuable resources and creat a pathway to move from simply surviving to truly thriving! Your journey to a brighter future starts here.
- TEXT US FOR HELP - Text "RESOURCES" to 941-953-7572 to instantly receive up-to-date local resources tailored to support your immediate needs. Get the help you need anytime, anywhere—right at your fingertips!
- HELP REQUEST - In addition to our in house support, MHM has partnerships with nearly every nonprofit serving families within Sarasota and Manatee County. Simply fill out our REQUEST ASSISTANCE button and you will be connected via email with a support volunteer.
- CONNECTIONS LOUNGE - Our upstairs 'coffee lounge' hosts weekly support groups and informative sessions with community facilitators providing information and support for you to build tools and relationships with other like minded moms. PLUS you get free childcare, diapers and can earn rewards like Starbucks gift cards and a free MHM Shop Pass to skip the appointment line! - HELPING HANDS FB GROUP - Join our private Facebook Marketplace where thousands of donors and families connect to share items from furniture to baby clothes direct for FREE.
- SAFE BABY EQUIPMENT - No baby should go without a safe car seat or bed to sleep in and MHM is there to support our families through our FREE Safe Ride and Safe Sleep programs. Also, visit our SAFE BABY tab under "Clients", for vital information and videos to help you keep your children safe and secure
- DIAPER AND WIPES - Thanks to our generous donors, each mom with a child still in diapers, will receive a free sleeve of diapers and wipes at the end of each appointment.
- BREAST PUMPS - Our volunteers refurbish donated pumps to help moms on the go. These kits are free to new moms.
- DIGNITY PROGRAM - While we take gently used clothes of all kinds, we believe every child deserves a new pair of socks and undies which are generously supplied by Bombas Socks and through donations and donor drives at every appointment.
- CLOTH DIAPER BANK - The only cloth diaper bank in Southwest Florida! Let us teach you how to save thousands with our free, modern cloth diaper systems.
- REUSABLE MENSTRUAL CUPS - Save thousands in feminine hygiene expenses with these simple to use, reusable period cups. Free to clients at their appointments.
- BOOKS TO GO - Each family receives a free bag of age-appropriate books at their appointment. Reading is power and we support early learning for all our children.
CARES Program

Life can be challenging, but you don’t have to face it alone. That’s why we created the CARES program for our clients —empowering families from survive to thrive with the support of Mothers Helping Mothers and your CARES team coach.
Our goal is to provide you with the tools and resources you need to confidently handle whatever life throws your way. Graduating from the CARES program will not only equip you with valuable skills, but also prepare you for a better future.
Starting soon, all clients requesting financial assistance will be required to complete the financial literacy part of the CARES program to be eligible to apply —so why not get a head start now?
Here’s how it works:

Become a registered client and make an appointment to come shop. Then, you can join the program and receive personalized support: We’ll help connect you with community resources and, when appropriate, make referrals to other organizations on your behalf.

Complete a Financial Education program - You’ll have the option to participate in a short, self-paced financial literacy program designed to help you plan for life’s unexpected challenges. This program is flexible, easy to complete, and can be done remotely on your schedule.

Earn a reward gift card and Free Shop Pass to MHM on your journey to graduation in addition to a path to stability!
